Demons celebrate 25 years
PLAYERS past and present gathered at the Lismore Recreation Reserve last Saturday to celebrate 25 years of the Lismore-Derrinallum Football Netball Club.

The evening saw strong support from previous and current players as well as their families, who took the opportunity to catch up and reflect through various historical displays.
Club secretary Darcie Seers said the night also saw two surprises.
“Three life members were inducted to the club including Colin Gellie, Ruth Nicholson and John Nicholson; all three having had major impacts on the history of our club,” she said.
“We also unveiled the new Graeme ‘Hammy’ Turner Scoreboard, named after Graeme Turner for his dedication to the club and his ongoing support and work to make our club the wonderful place that it is.”
Club president Tim Turner said the attendance at the event was stronger than the club had anticipated.
“It’s a bit overwhelming to see the support and the love for the footy club; the crowd we had on Saturday was as good as a final,” Turner said.
“It was good to see people catch up with others they haven’t seen in a long time.
“Hopefully we’ll also get a bit of support for the finals.
“We’d like to thank all the people who turned up. A lot of work went into organising the event.”
