Delays expected as works begin
MAINTENANCE works along the Princes Highway have caused traffic delays this week as detours and a single lane closure were put in place.

Department of Transport and Planning executive director Barwon South West and Grampians Michael Bailey said the works, which began on Sunday, May 11, were expected to be completed by mid-June.
“We’re delivering vital maintenance works on approximately 450m of the Princes Highway in Camperdown, between Bowen Street and Park Road,” he said.
“These rehabilitation works will restore the condition of the road surface and create a smoother journey for drivers who rely on the road every day.”
A signed detour via Gnotuk Road was established for Bowen Street, while those planning to go along Old Timboon Road were detoured down Old Geelong Road.
Single lane closures are also expected throughout the project.
Western District Newspapers understands a work blitz took place from 6pm Sunday, May 11 to 6pm Wednesday, May 14 during the day and night to minimise traffic disruptions while keeping roadworkers safe.
