CWA learns more about local press
THE Clocktower Country Women’s Association Day branch visited the office of Western District Newspapers on Monday to learn more about how the local papers are printed.

Fifteen members of the branch attended the outing, which Clocktower CWA Day branch vice president Gwen George said was “fantastic”.
“They’ve never been in the Chronicle office before,” she said.
“They found it very interesting – Chris (Esh, printer) was very informative with how the press works.
“They were very interested to see the paper being printed off.
“They were very interested watching the front page of a paper being printed off, just showing how the press works.
“The size of the press was amazing too.”
The visit was part of the branch’s regular outings, which provides members of the CWA branch an opportunity to see what happens in various places around Camperdown.
Ms George said the Clocktower CWA Day branch is seeking new members, and encouraged women to sign up.
“We have about 18 financial members and we meet once a month at the St Paul’s guild room in Church Street,” she said.
“The aim of the CWA is to be there and help our community – we raise money for different things and that’s what we try and do to help people in the community”
