Coverdale wins at Terang

SCOTT Coverdale led the way at last Saturday’s stableford event at the Terang Golf Club, taking out A grade with a score of 41 points.

Coverdale finished ahead of runner-up Josh Brown (scratch) on 36 points.

B grade was won by Brad Lucas (30) 40 points from Daryl Johnstone (22) 28.

Balls down the line went to Gary Huebner (20) 37, Peter Hrabar (20) 36, Gary Marr (18) 35, Linda Kenna (33) 34, Stephen O’Connor (19) 33 and Jeremy Attrill (15) 33.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Nigel Bruckner, 6th Daryl Johnstone, 8th Gary Huebner and 11th Josh Brown.

Next Saturday will be stableford.

Last Thursday 10 players contested the 18-hole silverspoon stableford event while another 11 enjoyed the all-day stableford.

The ladies’ winner was Marion Venn on 32 points on countback from runner-up Margie Driscoll, also 32.

Balls down the line went to Jenny Meade on 30 points and Judy Carmody on 29.

Nearest the pins: 11th Marion Venn and 9th from off the green, Jane Heffernan.

Winners of the silverspoon were Marion Venn and Margie Driscoll.

The all day 18-hole event was won by Leo Beasley, 38 points on a countback from Ethan Wyss.

Balls down the line went to Max Kavanagh 36 points, Terry Coolahan 32 on countback from Terry Beasley and Peter Hrabar.

Nearest the pin on the 11th was Max Kavanagh.

Winner of the nine-hole competition was Linda Kenna on 17 points.

Congratulations to the club’s women’s pennant team, Sharee, Cate, Jenny, Margie and Jo on their 5-0 win against Peterborough.

Next week’s competition will be 9 for 9.30 par event and all-day stableford.
