Colin and Darren win men’s pairs
COLIN Goldsworthy and Darren Grant have taken out the men’s pairs final at Mortlake Bowls Club.
The pair defeated Nigel Boyden and Justin Rasmussen in what was a hotly contested match last Wednesday.
The last event on the bowls calendar this year was the Club Fours Championship.
Thirty-two players competed for gold-letter Honour Board glory and after three games of seven ends, two teams rose to the top.
They were Anthony Wood (s), Les Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Alan Wood and the team of Colin Goldsworthy (s), Barry Killey, Sandra Richie and Maddy Goldsworthy.
The match started out relatively even but it doesn’t take much to turn a match and Anthony’s side broke away.
Despite the valiant efforts of Colin’s team, they couldn’t catch up.
Congratulations to the 2025-25 Club Fours Champions, Anthony Wood (s), Les Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Alan Wood.
Well done to the runners-up - Colin Goldsworthy (s), Barry Killey, Sandra Richie and Maddy Goldsworthy.
Following the Club Fours Championship last Saturday was presentation day.
