More than 300 pieces of art by young people from eight local schools were on display at the event from 1-3 pm.

There were musical performances by bands Re-Spin and Sour Doh, and soloist Jada Mahony.

There were also dance performances by dance by Etti Glennen and Jammin’ Dance Studio.

Corangamite Shire Council mayor councillor Kate Makin said Youth Fest was a vibrant way to connect young people and help them feel part of a welcoming and supportive community.

“When we invest in youth events in regional towns, we’re planting seeds of leadership, creativity and resilience that will shape the future of our communities,” she said.

“It was a fun afternoon and a chance to make new friends, enjoy some music and show off their artistic talents to their peers.

“Youth Fest is a great way to ensure every young person feels valued, supported and inspired to thrive.”

The fully supervised event was drug, alcohol, smoke and vape free, creating a safe space for participants to socialise and build community connections.

It was supported by the Victorian Government through the Youth Fest Grants and Amplify programs.
