Camperdown library extends open hours
CAMPERDOWN Library users have an extra two hours per week to browse books, newspapers and magazines, use public computers, do their printing, photocopying and more.
Libraries coordinator Janetta Mascilongo said the Camperdown Library will now open at 11am instead of 12noon on Thursdays and Fridays.
“Opening at midday then closing an hour later for lunch wasn’t the best use of time or the best for customers,” she said.
“People tend to do things in the morning. They come out and run their errands, have a coffee – then visit the library.”
The revised hours will mean the library will open between 11am and 1pm, and then 1.30-5.30pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with Saturday’s 10am-12noon hours remaining unchanged.
Ms Mascilongo said Corangamite Moyne Library Service branches offer many services and programs for the community.
“They have digital resources like e-books, audio books, films and ancestry family history as well as in-branch services like free Wi-Fi, computer access and free events,” she said.
“There’s Baby Time for carers with babies, Rhyme Time for little ones up to four years of age, and school holiday craft sessions for older children.
“For older library users there are regular Positive Ageing, Access and Inclusion sessions, or they can get a Justice of the Peace to sign their documents.
“Full details on events and regular opening times and can be found at cmlibraries.com.au or the Corangamite and Moyne Shire websites.
“You can become a member online today or just drop into your local branch.”
