Birds race from Warracknabeal

The birds covered a distance of 230 kilometres and were released into a slight east wind with sunny conditions.

The first pigeon arrived home in a time of two hours, 20 minutes and was flown by Mark Kavanagh from Jancourt East.

Results were as follows:

1st Mark Kavanagh (velocity 1697.33 m/mins); 2nd G. and S. McKenzie (velocity 1486.88 m/mins); 3rd Rex Perkins (velocity 1058.79 m/mins).

This ended the club’s short race competition, with Graeme and Mark coming equal first in the series.

This Sunday the birds will race from Lascelles.
