Big win for Lakers
CAMPERDOWN’S division one cricketers enjoyed a big win over Boorcan last weekend.
The Lakers won the toss and elected to bat on their home ground, with opener John Reed falling just one run short of a century.
Reed was caught on 99 in a remarkable innings that included eight boundaries and two sixes.
He was well supported on the scoreboard by Jye McLaughlin who was unbeaten on 55 and Luke Delaney who contributed a handy 44.
In reply, Boorcan was restricted to just 10/84 in the 30th over.
James O’Neil was effective with the ball for the Lakers, taking 3/20 from his 10 overs while Shane Wilson also contributed a handy 3/15 off six.
Other wickets fell to Bernard McLeod, Jehrin Bateman and Lucas Rais-Colvin.
Round 11 this weekend will see the Lakers host Ecklin at SA Wright Oval on Saturday.
