Back-to-back titles for Brown

THERE was plenty of thrills and spills when the Speedcars and Formula 500s hit the clay at Simpson Speedway last week.

Friday and Saturday nights saw an action-packed program of races as a talented field of Speedcar drivers gave their all in the Australian Speedcar Championship.

Night one of racing also featured a Formula 500 program, while night two saw 360ls Sprintcars on track.

Spectators, both nights, were treated to some great racing which saw drivers tussling for position and several crashes pushing the program late into the night/early morning.

But despite the time, the crowds braved the cool night air and were rewarded with some ‘edge of your seat’ racing.

Defending Speedcar champion Kaidon Brown didn’t disappoint his fans, once again taking out the title.

Brown finished ahead of Nick Parker, with Aston Rodriguez rounding out the podium.

Friday night’s Formula 500 podium saw Terry Rankin take the chequered flag ahead of Chad Bell and Indy Rae.

In the junior Formula 500s, line honours went to Hugo Chivell, followed by Cruz Farrell and Cody Malley.

Action will return to Simpson from 6pm on Saturday, March 21 for the running of the Formula 500s, modified sedans and the JSPA Junior Series round.

The 2025/26 season will wrap up at Simpson on Saturday, April 11 with the Merrett Family Memorial for wingless, along with street stocks and standard saloons.
