Derrinallum and district residents have been advised that a number of small controlled explosions may occur over the Easter weekend.
Acting Superintendent Paul Ross said several controlled explosions had already occurred throughout Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.
The explosions are being conducted at the property of Glenn Sanders, 1.5km west of Derrinallum on the Hamilton Highway after Friday night’s seven hour siege.
“There may be a few small controlled explosions over the Easter period, but nothing on the scale that has occurred to date,” he said.
A public meeting has also been scheduled for 7.30pm, Easter Monday at the Derrinallum Hall.
“Our intention is to update the community on where the issue is at and what will take place next,” he said.
“I’d also like to thank the Derrinallum community for their help in progressing this investigation.
“The support they have given is just fantastic.”
